Pandora, as Promised to be Shown on February 23
This year is the 75th anniversary of the discovery of nuclear fission, a historic event that has transformed our world. Like many great modern era discoveries, nuclear fission has been a double-edged sword, evoking both fear and admiration depending. The production of electricity using nuclear fission has also attracted its champions and opponents. The environmental movement has historically been on the forefront of advocating for the end of nuclear energy. However, a significant paradigm shift has occurred among many noted environmentalists in 2013 –a growing advocacy and strong support for nuclear energy as a key asset in our future energy supply, as expressed in the recently released award-winning, “Pandora’s Promise”, which was shown at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival.

This movie was originally scheduled to be part of the Adult Ed/Social Action presentation in December, but was not shown due to lack of time. So as promised, it will be shown on Sunday, Feb 23 from 10:30 am -12:00 pm (no Coffee Klatch, sorry).
