Mother's Day Concert

FOURTEEN TOP MISHKAN TORAH CLASSICAL ARTISTS TO PERFORM AT SPECIAL MOTHER’S DAY CONCERT ON MAY 13

In the spirit of its From Generation to Generation Theme, the Ways and Means Committee will commemorate Mother’s Day on May 13, 2012 at 2:00 PM by presenting a concert of unprecedented size and scope. The concert will feature professional quality performances by no less than fourteen Mishkan Torah artists. Each artist who has agreed to appear is a professionally and classically trained veteran of numerous concerts and stage appearances. This concert will mark the first time so much Mishkan Torah talent has appeared together on the same stage.

In keeping with the Mother’s Day and Generation to Generation aspects of this unprecedented event, the concert will be multigenerational, causing it to be heralded as “Generations United.” The concert will feature performances by two of last season’s acclaimed Young Performers and older, more established Mishkan Torah artists.

The following Mishkan Torah stars of the first magnitude have agreed to appear at the grand event. In alphabetical order, they are Pianist Don Anderson; Pianist David Charney; Cantor and Young Leadership Award Designee Yael Fischman: Bassoonist and Young Leadership Award Winner Darelynn Fung; Bassoonist Diane Fung; Young Performer and tenor Ben Greenfield; Cantor Phil Greenfield; tenor Adam Juran; resident composer and bass Don Juran; Comic Baritone Jeffrey Rosen; Young Performer and French hornist Joshua Rosen; Flutist Carolyn Sonnen; soprano Nadine Wobus; and Flutist Rachel White.  Renowned local pianist and collaborative artist Andrew Kraus will also appear to accompany the performers.

The concert will also include a beautiful program book. Even if you do not attend the concert, you will have the opportunity of making donations in honor, or in memory of your mothers and grandmothers, to be included on special pages in the book.

The two o’clock starting time will allow you to enjoy Mother’s Day brunch, or to have a Mother’s Day dinner and still attend the concert as part of your Mother’s Day celebration. The price of a ticket will be only $15 if ordered in advance, and $18 at the door. Reservations can be made by writing or calling the Mishkan Torah office.  For your convenience, reservations can also be made online using the form below.  You can also pay online if you desire.
