Chasing Ice
In the spirit of the ongoing Year of Sustainability, the Social Action Committee of Mishkan Torah Synagogue is presenting a free educational program about the changes in our climate that are affecting our world.  On the evening of Thursday, April 24 at 7:30 pm, the Committee will be screening “Chasing Ice”, an award winning National Geographic film that demonstrates the effects of climate change on our planet. The program will be held at Mishkan Torah Synagogue, 10 Ridge Road, Greenbelt, Maryland 20770.

“Chasing Ice” is beautiful, amazing and scary all at the same time. It follows National Geographic photographer James Balog across the Arctic as he deploys time-lapse cameras designed for one purpose: to capture a multi-year record of the world's changing glaciers. The movie lasts one hour and 15 minutes. There will be lively discussion after the movie. Genuine fair trade coffee and tea and organic snack foods will be available.

More information on the film, including a trailer, can be found on this website.

The program will be free, and open to the entire community. If you have any questions or need directions, please contact Susan Ungar, 301-758-5033.
